Shirley Band Teams Up With New Children's Choir And Singers From Longborough Festival Opera
Shirley Band, from Solihull near Birmingham, has just performed in concert with a 40-strong new choir for children with additional educational needs and professional singers from Longborough Festival Opera.

Shirley Band from Solihull in the West Midlands has just celebrated 100 years of music making with a special centenary concert which featured an augmented band made up of current and former members.

We have the greatest pleasure in inviting you to a very special concert to celebrate 100 years of The Shirley Band on Saturday 11th May, at 7.00 p.m. at Shirley Baptist Church, Stratford Road, Shirley Solihull, B90 3BD.
We hope that this celebration concert will be an opportunity to meet friends old and new, enjoy the performance and if you wish, to join the band on stage to perform in the pieces that will conclude this very special concert.

The Shirley Band, a 28-strong brass band from Solihull, has clinched a coveted place in the annual National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain - after coming third in the Midlands regional championships.
